The Bayard 1908 is a semi-automatic pistol designed by Belgian Bernard Clarus in 1908 as a short-range self-defense handgun. The Bayard 1908 was sold on the civilian market, chambered in .25 ACP, .32 ACP, and .380 ACP. It was produced at the Belgian factory Anciens Etablissements Pieper from 1908 until the later 1930s.
The system of this gun is simple blowback operation. The trigger is of the sliding type and connects to the sear through a single linkage on the left side of the gun. The mechanism allows only single-action fire. Trigger is completely enclosed by the lock (breech-lock?). Dining ammunition is available from steel 5-round single-row (single-stack?) magazine (firearms). Magazine catch is located below the handle. On the left side of the handle there is a mechanical flag of safety catch. Strap on the handle are made of ebonite. Open sight is not regulated. Foresight has unusual form because when weapons is being disassembled, it is the key, while pressing the lock (?) that can be separated and return spring from the pistol frame.
